New Music 6/20
Hey Kids. Just some new stuff to make your eyes and ears happy on what in New York is a drab, rainy day so far.
M.I.A. - Letting you know that this summer will be fiere with the video for the newest single off her new album Kala
The new Freeway single feat. Jay Z “Big Spender” is so good it makes me mad. Jigga why couldn’t you have been as hot on your album? With the exception of “Oh My God” and one or two other tracks you did nothing for me. Yet on this I love you again.
Listen to Big Spender over at Fader
And finally someone new to look forward to is Kevin Michael. He sort of sounds Princeish by way of Robin Thicke. Listen to “We all Want” it features Lupe Fiasco.

New Music 5/2
I’m late, but honestly wasn’t much to rush for this week. With the exception of Tori Amos’ new album American Doll Posse. The video for the first single “Big Wheel” is good stuff. Deserves respect for the costume changes alone. Even more for working M.I.L.F. into a chorus.
As for me this week I haven’t really been listening to anything new with the exception of Bjork’s Volta album which has been exactly what I needed. Innocence (especially the Mark Stent Remix) is the killer track on the album.
It’s May and this year is the 10th anniversary of Jeff Buckley’s death. He was just plain old awesome as an artist. If you can’t at least appreciate his voice we can’t be friends. A cover of a Smiths’ song he did has surfaced. It’s called “I Know It’s Over”. It will probably make it’s way on to the release of his albums this year.
The iTunes Free Download is worth it this week…It’s the Noisettes and they are lovely.

Nothing of true interest as far as New Releases, but check out the coke commercial with music by Jack White from the White Stripes as the soundtrack.
In the grand tradition of celebs doing ads just for Japan it seems the ad has only run overseas. It’s fun, but definitely “reminds” me of the Stripes video “Hardest Button to Button”.
Sidenote : Check out the Simpsons version of Hardest Button it was fun.

Another Tuesday and more new music….
From Nine Inch Nails there is Survivalism Parts One and Two. Blonde Redhead has a new album called 23.
But my favorite things this week have been the new Bjork/Timbaland track “Earth Intruders”.
You can stream a listen here, but definitely do yourself and buy the extended mix from iTunes (believe it may be an exclusive) like I ended up doing, it’s much sicker.
Björk - Earth Intruders - Single - Earth Intruders (Extended Mark) [Spike] {Stent Mix}
Other than that it is widely understood I love two things. Foreign Boys and Jeff Buckley. So when Foreign boys sing Jeff Buckley, how can it not be a good time? The Cinematics covered “Grace” at SXSW.
Discuss!
Edit: Odeo is not playing nice at the moment s the track is all chimpunky. Not normal Bjork chipmunky, the weird kind. I’ll reload it later.

New Music Tuesday 3/27
As far as music I’ve been hearing alot about MIKA. I’ve yet to hear one of his songs, but I’ve heard alot about him. Web 2.0 says what!
More importantly Children of Men is out on DVD. You need it in your life. Seriously. Then go read the book. Don’t make the mistake I made and do it the other way around.
In other news being a gangsta must have taken on a new definition while I wasn’t looking. First Ice Cube and his slew of family friendly movies and now a candid of Snoop In Paris…

Not Gangsta! Not Gangsta at all Sir.
