Alpha Dog

I just got back from seeing Alpha Dog and for a January release it’s pretty good. Nick Cassavettes directs and he did “The Notebook” so was expecting at least an ok time.

Ben Foster literally owned every scene he was in and Justin Timberlake surprised me by being good. He had a few over acting moments but in the end he made up for it.

Supposedly the film is based on a true story, but it felt like an overblown Larry Clark “Kids” tribute at times. Hell, Larry Clark even covered the whole “bored white kids overly influenced by urban music” movie already with “Bully” and it was good.

Overall it’s nice to look at and has a few good moments. Most of them containing Anton Yelchin.

When Timberlake cried and called his mama after getting Punked his street cred went down to K-Fed level. The only way I’ll watch Timberlake playing a Wigga is when the movie comes out on TBS.
